Just wanted to thank you for this super fun event. Our family of 6 has gone through the hardest summer of our lives, our son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and my husband and I are separating. I did the mini muddy buddy with one of my best friends and our two 6 year old daughters, also best friends. My little one killed it with such confidence, coordination and focus! She inspired me. My friend pushed me from behind into the mud pit and I laughed for the first time with such pure surprise and joy, a laugh that I thought I had lost.
I had been in a mild depression but with all the kids and laughter my life turned right side up. The way my kiddo attacked that course made me see how I need to attack my life. I will forever be grateful for this day and be back for years to come!
Thank you Johanna. Nov 13, Dade City, FL. Use our magical one-click race finder to pull up all races near you, or search for a specific city or zipcode.

Subject: Muddy Buddy - L. My Race Log. Muddy buddy's are fun! Glad you had a good time! GREAT race report Been hearing about Muddy Buddy and based upon your RR think I'll give it a go next season; sounds - and based upon the pics looks - like a blast.
Good luck with your HIM! You have raised the standard for that report I looked at the pictures from your Muddy Buddy adventure and I laughed so hard. They require teams of two to alternate riding a mountain bike and running over a 10K course that includes an average of five obstacles think rope walls, plastic slides, and mud pits.
The one I did last year in Boulder, Colorado, was an opportunity to enjoy sports I love while busting a sweat, having a ball, and hanging with Sylvia. Like me, she's a six-foot-tall native Minnesotan. As such, we made the perfect team: Twelve Feet of Minnesota Nice. I followed 30 seconds later, so focused on the legion of granny panties around me I didn't even notice the race started with an uphill. When I reached the first obstacle, High Wall, it momentarily freaked out my weak upper body, but the ascent was little more than a playground maneuver.
I picked up the bike Sylvia had left for me and rode to the next obstacle. We continued to leapfrog as we negotiated barriers that had us crawling on our knees for 20 feet on dry grass under a low net no place for a Viking helmet , wobbling across balance beams harder to balance six feet of nice than I thought , and careening down a foot inflatable slide behind a Jane Fonda look-alike in a Day-Glo pink leotard.
Compared to typical road events where runners are either rigged with iPods or laser focused, the costumed camaraderie made the Muddy Buddy feel like a party. There were also unique opportunities to interact with and help out fellow racers. Late in the races , people on a cycling leg had to carry their bikes across an ankle-deep, shoe-sucking, yard-long bog and then scale a slippery, nearly vertical, eight-foot slope.
