I worked here for 6 years and looking back it was easily the happiest I've been in the workplace.

You make friends with everyone that comes into the store, have complete freedom to be your true self without any judgement and the work itself is fun. Pros You get to be yourself, make friends with everyone that comes in, easy to learn new things and advance.

Cons Pay is pretty low, rotating shifts. Good work environment but no room for promotions. Worked here for 4 years and left still making my starting wage. I worked there for 4 years and knew the ins and outs and managers hired people that have never worked at a Hot Topic before to take management positions. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No.

It was very fun at first, but we have many fall outs and it's a toxic environment that is never addressed, managers don't treat other employees the same, managers was always off the floor when it was busy, feel like when you become more part of the company then you get used and tossed to the side whenever a new employee comes.

For working so long and many hours the pay never adds up, managers play a big part in the consent issues but no one speaks out about it so I just had to go. Overall it was fun just the lack of caring for employers mental health was awful, and the choice of management. Pros Co workers, seeing different customers. Cons Management, low pay.

A place to work where you can be yourself. Loved my time at Hot Topic, made some amazing memories and even better life long friends. Over all would recommend, job is chill and you get to be yourself. Pros Chill job. Leave a review. Help people like you. Fun work if the team you get is good, terrible pay. Overall it's a pretty decent job but your milage will strongly depend on who your co-workers are, and if the manager is any good or not.

Very flexible hours and if you're a strong worker generally they will work around your schedule to keep you on board. Biggest downside however is the pay, it is absolutely abysmal especially during holiday season when you will most likely be slammed all the time is when you'll start to feel like you're not being paid well for the work you do.

Pros Chill environment. Cool Co-workers. Flexible hours. Cons Questionable management. No raises. Not enough hours only got them if you sold credit cards. Fun talking to customers about the stuff and the music was always good was always discovering something new. Pros Discount, great music, cute clothes fun people. Cons Not enough hours, low pay.

Good worked there for a bit. Great place to work at and meet a lot of great people. Like most places it can use some changes but overall was a good job to have. Pros Cool people. Cons Some long days. I worked for this company for about 9 years and I just want to warn anyone who thinks this is a cool place to work you will never get a promotion bc they love to outsource they tell you constantly that you are replaceable the company is shady and you are just a number to them they can replace in a heart beat.

Pros Discount. Cons You make no money so the disscount dont mean anything. Extremely laid back and fun. I have worked at 2 different Hot Topic stores in two different cities and both stores were pretty much the same. I enjoyed working here. Pros Good employee discount. Cons Low pay. Jobs at Hot Topic, Inc. Customer Service Representative - Remote. Sales Associate.

Loved this job!! This job was by far my favorite job ever. In unfortunately had to leave for personal reasons but the job was so easy and so fun! The customers were always great! Pros Listen to awesome music all day. Cons On feet all day. Pay not the greatest. Good starter job. Not enough pay for the 5 years I gave. My store manager was great. Loved working for her. District manager was okay but no real way to move up in the company. Pros Great coworkers. Cons No healthcare, no full time positions, low wages.

Cons everything else. If you have great management, you will have a great time. It's minimum wage though and your hours will always be less than 15 a week. And that's if you're lucky. Many times, employees got hours. Pros no dress code, fun coworkers. Cons no hours. Fun job. Awful pay, awful hours.

I worked here in the summer of I adored shopping here as a child and I did enjoy working here. The environment was fun and I got along with my coworkers well. The music they played was amazing and I loved the easy dress code and laid back work. Most of the day consisted of talking about anime and music to customers, folding clothing, and organizing merchandise.

I would occasionally ring up customers, and getting them to sign up for loyalty was easy. I didn't really feel like I fit in well with my coworkers as they all had worked there for a while, and I was new. The job was super easy and fun, however.. This job did not give me enough hours, I got 8 hours a week maximum. I also lived 20 miles away from this job.

Since they paid literally 7. I would work pm, which was a complete waste of gas. If they paid me more than minimum wage, I would stay. Breaks were guaranteed and the discount was great though.
