Freedom from-Finacial pains. One of those basic questions of all—how do I pray? I know you deal a lot with younger people, and this question comes up a lot.
Who am I going to marry? Where am I going to go to school? What job am I going to get? And if I make one wrong decision, my whole life is ruined. Yeah, I get this question all the time and talk to young teenagers, college students and beyond about it. And it often is tied to—who do I marry?
Where do I go to school? And so I think we need to boil this down first with sort of the Sunday school, Jesus answer. Because I want it. In fact, a lot of what we pray for are good things. There are secret things. Why do things happen to certain people? Why did so-and-so die? Or why did they die so young? Or who am I going to marry? Or who should I marry, et cetera, et cetera? But God owns, or has, a secret will. That would be what I would call categorically his revealed will.
What he shows us in the Bible. This seems like a good opportunity. I certainly would love to be the president of a seminary. I have a passion for raising up the next generation and deploying them on—to the church and to the world…if you open the door. But God has made certain things really clear.
So let me run through a few and put these under a question we want to ask. First, what has God commanded? Are there things that are low-hanging fruit? First of all, he wants people saved. And so he wants people saved. Not to just smite us all in judgment and wash us all off the planet, as he well could right now. He wants to see people saved.
And he sends the feet of those who bring good news. So we need to be bringing the good news. Or why equip the saints for the work of service in the church? Some other ones that maybe are a little harder to do, but easy to see—1 John, chapter four, really breaks down love. He commands it. Which means every one of you are like a thumbprint. God has wired you a specific way. Getting it out in the open is his will. But first and foremost, confessing it to Christ.
A few more, Brian. So go read your Bible. Ephesians 5, go love your wife like Christ loved the church. Love her sacrificially. And that is in relation to sexual immorality. Or to—1 John —your impurities, confess those and deal with them.
There was a section of the stadium that was set aside for people in wheelchairs and I kept a very close eye on that section when the healings or so called healings were taking place.
When Mr Hinn started his healing portion of his ministry his people would try to encourage people to stand up out of their wheelchairs and so on. I noticed that as his people were going around trying to get people to stand up and walk that most of what I saw the people would try but then sit right back down in dissappointment and I saw a few even start crying when they were unable to walk.
I saw this time and time again. People being encouraged to walk and the people not being healed but sitting right back down in dissappointment without a healing. I was careful to watch all that was going on.
Now suddenly Mr Hinn said This is what I saw and a person I was with saw it as well. The so called empty wheelchairs seemed to be props brought from the side of the stage and I did not see anybody who legitimately came in a wheelchair from the street actually stand up and walk. Every time I saw them try to get a person out of their wheelchair, it was not successful. But yet now a bunch of practically brand new empty wheelchair were brought up on stage and It seemed they were props and not legitimate empty wheelchairs that legitimate people got out of.
At least some deception was used there. Also as far as what was allowed to be show on camera was very carefully orchestrated. Nobody from the audience was allowed on the stage unless they first claimed to have had a healing and I also felt like at least a few people that claimed to be healed did not come from the legitimate audience Mr Hinns people brought up a few people and they actually would speak for the person and not let the person speak themselves It was very much controlled.
There was also a lady who came up there and claimed to be healed and it appeared as if it was staged. I did not see this lady in the wheelchair section and her testimony was such a picture perfect type of story and seemed to be very phony almost as if it had been rehearsed.
Its possible that it was legitimate but it seemed very suspicious It is possible it was real but was all very suspicious. I did not see anybody from the legitimate wheelchair section actually get out of a wheelchair that they came in and be allowed to go up on stage and testify.
I was watching the legitimate wheelchair section when his people were trying to get people to stand up and I didn't see anybody that actually came in a wheelchair off the streets get healed.
Every time I saw a person form the legitimate wheelchair section try to walk they were unsuccessful and then suddenly it's "bring up all those empty wheelchairs" and about 15 wheelchairs are brought from the side of the stage by Mr Hinns people and it all was very suspicious.
They believed he had the power to make them walk or see or use arthritis-crippled hands again. People who don't know Hinn's name might recognize his face. Locals have probably flipped past his show, Today Is Your Day! Pastor Benny, as he likes to be called, is the avatar of what televangelism-watchers call the new wave.
Hinn saw his opening when Jimmy Swaggart and Jim Bakker disintegrated on the shoals of televangelistic excess. Hinn adjusted his image--mostly by toning down expensive tastes--and then ratcheted up his shtick to the next level.
He no longer wears a Rolex. He traded his Mercedes-Benz for a Lincoln, though his staff still drives an assortment of Jaguars, Benzes and Cadillacs. He now wears plainer suits. And he muted his rhetoric. A few years back, he declared that by , the American homosexual community would be "destroyed by fire. Now he is a TV-friendly healer, more likely to make jokes about his shellacked hair than moral pronouncements about the fate of the world. The image tweaks have paid off.
Hinn's is now the second-most-widely watched show on the Trinity Broadcasting Network the world's biggest, in terms of outlets , according to officials there, and his ratings continue to skyrocket.
