But since there are so many dogs, the neighborhood expects responsible owners and well-trained canine family members. Safe streets all around.

The proximity to downtown and The University of Texas is fantastic! Everything I need is right here in this area. I don't have to travel far. We have lots of people with dogs and dog-friendly parks. For Austin traffic, this is about as good as it gets without moving into downtown with its sky-high rental prices. From here, it's easy to get on MoPac and drive downtown.
And if you work north of Allandale, there's virtually no traffic. It's good for young families, safe. It has grown slightly slower than the other nearby parts of town, but there is still plenty going on with quite a bit to do. At least that's the impression I get. We don't see as many people with pets around, but we also don't walk around the neighborhood much—we tend to drive more here. It's a safe, friendly neighborhood for families. Louis Catholic school.

In rush hour traffic I'd say it's probably a solid 25—30 minute commute to downtown. It's close to everything and still secluded from the hustle of the city. The neighbors are super friendly.
